What’s included in your programme?
-
Your programme aligns with the typical training phases throughout the season. Your subscription includes full access to TrainingPeaks Premium where you can track your progress.
You will need access to a fully equipped gym (barbell, stands, dumbells, and ideally a 45 degree leg press) and some basic kit for travelling (bands, roller/ball).
-
First approach to our S&C plans; we want to set a foundation and ensure that all riders who join have a minimum level of strength, mobility, and stability. This is generally a 4-6 week block and best approached around the time of your off-season.
-
From week 6 onwards every 4-5 weeks the programme will adjust the training stimulus combining different elements to target the key physical qualities, underpinning your performance. The main driver here will be to develop your strength level across the specific motor patterns in your cycling discipline.
Each block will include a de-load week, where the programme reduces training load to recover and allow adaptation. This will be the longest preparation phase, 3-4 x 4-week blocks, best started as your base training for the next season does.
-
The goal in this phase is to allow you to deliver your best physical performance on race day. We do this by getting you to the end of the race season with two outcomes;
Firstly, maintaining the new level of strength you attained in the preparation phases. Also to maintain the new function your body has gained through all your hard work, this is great for staying adaptable on the bike and reduce risk of injury.
Secondly, allowing you to taper for key races and events in your calendar. This part of the season runs from the beginning of the race season onwards.
